Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

The proper name of the temple is Sri Dalada Maligawa and it houses one of the last relics of the lord Buddha. After his cremation four of his teeth remained. This tooth was a gift from India and is now symbolic of the right to rule the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings.
